Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 October 2026
CJN Solar ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, how we use it, and your choices. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
When you request a free quote, we collect:
- Contact details: your name, email address, phone number and postcode.
- Your answers: what you are interested in, whether you already have solar, your approximate quarterly electricity bill, and when you are looking to install.
- How you found us: advertising campaign details from the link you clicked (such as UTM tags or a Facebook click ID), the page you came from, and the page address.
You do not have to give us this information, but without it we cannot prepare your quote.
How we use it
- To contact you about your enquiry and prepare your quote.
- To design a solar and battery system that suits your home.
- To keep records of our dealings with you.
- To understand which of our advertising works, so we can improve it.
We may contact you by phone, email or SMS about your enquiry. We will only send you other marketing if you have agreed to it, and you can opt out at any time.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run our business, and only as needed:
- Supabase (secure database that receives form submissions)
- Our customer management system, where our team manages your enquiry
Some of these providers may store or process information on servers outside Australia. We choose reputable providers that protect data with security measures appropriate to its sensitivity.
We may also disclose information where required or authorised by law.
How we protect it
Form submissions are stored in a database that cannot be read from the public website. Access to enquiries is limited to CJN Solar staff who need it to help you. Information is sent over encrypted (HTTPS) connections.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry, provide our services, and meet our legal and warranty obligations. When it is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
Cookies and third party services
This page loads fonts from Google Fonts and code from a content delivery network (jsDelivr), which means those services receive your IP address when the page loads, as with most websites. We may use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure how our adverts perform. If you arrived from an advert, the advertising platform may collect information under its own privacy policy.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time, usually 30 days.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to fix it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
